What to Wear?

I have a few questions on the 3 rounds of outfits required for the competition -- just so I can get a better idea of what I should choose for each round.

Formal Wear (usually means full gear of your choice): Could this be fantasy-based? I'm thinking full catsuit with military accessories -- an outfit that I think I've designed quite nicely.

Minimal Wear (basically what it says): What would you consider here? Simply a pair of rubber shorts or something? Or is this the round where one could wear a singlet?

Presentation round, I have always thought of these as more casual wear, could be something like a singlet or whatever: This one - I'm thinking a rubber dress shirt, leggings and boots. Is that too much for this round? Is this the one where we will be asked questions and such?

Do we need a 'gimmick' for these rounds, or is it basically just 'stand and pose'? I'm just wanting to be a bit prepared as I've never done anything like this before, and to be honest I've never really seen these competitions in person...only online in badly focused videos!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve the wear in each round -- possibly giving me the 'edge' in the competition?

Just a couple of thoughts -- a gimmick (or props) will make you stand out from the others in the crowd. You want something that's memorable.

I think your military outfit is a great choice for the formal round. My only suggestions would be that *seriously* do you think you look more authoritative in the hat in the picture, or a brimmed hat? Also, consider a thigh holster.

For the minimal wear round, I think you're too covered up. Since you have a great body, I'd consider one of your masks (pepperpot eyes would be great), body harness and jock. One "gimmick" here if possible would be to be wearing two masks. At the end of your posing round, unzip the outer mask toss it to the crowd.

Presentation round is generally more casual and I think you've got a nice outfit already. Perhaps a pair of mirrored shades.

You're runway-model tall, so concentrate on taking your time when you're on stage. Just think of yourself as a gummi superstar and play to the crowd.

Thanks for those great suggestions, Patrick. They certainly give me some more fodder to contemplate. I have to be reasonable here too -- the competition is in three weeks, not really enough time to amass anything new (maybe a jock from Priape?) Yeah, minimal wear -- more minimal that what I have on....that makes sense.

Great ideas, my friend.

As for the garrison hat with the pewter suit -- I really love the hat, but I know where you're coming from with what you say. Maybe, on a completely different tangent, I could go with the STR suit with the black captain's hat? It would be a simple look, but a very powerful one....hmmm.

First off I am so thrilled to see you are in the Mr Calagry Rubber Contest. I always said to you, from your pics and your videos, you can show wearing rubber clothing, the likes not many can out there today. The way you flex, and show off being in the rubber. It is almost like you are made of rubber. Also how you bring the inner strengths inside of you,
outisde of you in the rubber wearing. And one can see them clear as day, For when you get in that military rubber suit, or the rubber SWAT outfit, you totally transform yourself, to the point you feel you are in the military, or on a SWAT team!

So whatever you choose to wear, this is what you really have to bring out, in front of the judges. And what is really going to win it all for you. That strongness that is inside of you, you bring out big time. To transform yourself, to the point you are no longer human, but made of rubber.

I also agree with all Patrick said, to look to wearing in each of the three different outfits have to wear for the contest.

Also if I may make two suggestions here on the formal presenatation, to you. Why not go to an Army Navy store, get a inexpensive military helmet, and paint it sliver. Even some of the gear you wear, with your Rubber Swat man videos and pictures you can wear to. Really make those judges see wow this guy is really in the miltary!

And do really watch your SWAT videos, that is exactly how you should be on the stage, for the formal presentation. Even from the start of it, come out on the stage wearing a gas mask, then take it off. Then go into the presenation just like you did on those videos! However near the end of the presentation, put it back on! Just have FUN with it!!!!
And not even think you are being judged!!

For you surely can do it Matt!!! Can you ever!!! And you sure will!!!
