A Holiday Gift for All Of Us

SCTV Sexy Holiday Special

OMG, was this from, around 1980? I remember SCTV so well, this era was the pinnacle of Canadian comedy. Check out the dancers with Andrea Martin (Marcie) at 2:30. John Candy is still divine as Divine! :)

Quote Of The Day

12.22.2011 BY ADAM RATHE for OUT.COM 'American Horror Story' star talks about life in the gimp suit Discussing his time in the latex bodysuit that was an object of intense fascination this season, grungy babe Evan Peters told Vulture a bit about how he slipped into the skin-tight costume.
"I don’t know if you’ve ever put on lube before, but it’s not like there’s a layer of Vaseline on you; it’s just almost like your skin is super smooth and slick; it feels kind of gross, but at the same time, you feel really well moisturized. You’re not like, 'Ew, get it off of me.' You’re more like, 'This is kind of gross. I want to get this off as soon as possible. But maybe I can stop and get a sandwich first.'"

Invasion

Oh...my....dog...a reader just showed me the most awesome inflatable alien hood, made by rubear.net.  I am drooling as I write this, this is perfect for Rubbout 21!  I gotta think long and hard whether to get this....it will definitely be utilized more than just once, but....the same internal arguments arise.

Merry Christmas to Me

Last week, my catsuit order from Libidex LatexExpress showed up. It took less than two weeks to get here from London, which is impressive.

I wasn't sure about the colour choice - whether the online swatches of Metallic Peacock were accurate, but once the suit showed up I was really impressed; it is a pretty unique, yet masculine color. I had originally ordered the suit with no thru-zip but the one that showed up had one. I was initially concerned about this as the latex above the butt zip is always the spot on the suit that rips first for me (due to my damn big ass lol) however it appears that Libidex has even improved their design on that. The butt zip only goes halfway up the butt and seems to avoid being in a pressure zone. If I bend over, the pressure at that point seems minimal. I can only hope that this remains the case.
As for the styling, I like the multi-panel look in this case. It makes the suit look very professionally done (which it is, quel surprise). I ordered the suit in a Medium, something which I hadn't done with Libidex before (the white catsuit was custom-sized, the olive green one is an off-the-rack Large) and I'm happy to say I like the fit even more than the other cuts. My litmus test is whether the cut of the suit will follow the curve of the small of the back. An air pocket there typically means to me that the suit isn't fit to my frame just right.

Now, only to loose a few pounds to give the suit its proper wearing visual!

Now that I have a metallic pewter and metallic peacock suit in addition to the olive green 'official' military catsuit, I have devious plans to get a couple of guys to suit up with me in all three suits and pass off a 'military invasion' look at the Rubbout Kickoff party in March, or Rubbout itself. Exciting!
Not too shabby for $200, eh? I consider this partially a Christmas present to myself, justifiably also a birthday present to myself. Since it's the big 4-0 at the end of the month, maybe one's not enough? ;)

The Laboratory of Personal Experience

The Laboratory of Personal Experience is a great post by Race Bannon on his blog. It so summarizes how fetish and kink is a very unique personal experience for each of us, even as we attempt the innate task of categorizing our kinks. I like the post and I'm interested to see people's responses!

Rubberskin's Website

We all know who Rubberskin is. He's the guy that creates his own amazing latex and lycra outfits and pervs out on superheroes and has a great time training his slaves....you know who I'm talking about! If you have spent any time on any of the fetish sites or seeking out gay fetish video on YouTube, you have undoubtedly come across his work. He has done many videos outlining his makeup techniques, fantasy scenes insides and outside, slave training skills, and showing off his latest creations. He is a great contributor to the rubber community, a very talented photographer and videographer, makeup artist, and latex designer, and now I'm happy to say he has effectively put all of his work in one place...on his Rubberskin website!

December Anvil Club Party

NEXT ANVIL CLUB DECEMBER 17

Anvil Extreme Dress Code Club is back in action on Saturday, December 17. Doors open 9 PM and the party goes late (or early!) Get your tickets online or at local LA kink retailers.
This month we're getting back to our roots as we celebrate the hard, full leather and uniform look of BLUF and Tom of Finland.

As always, other gear is welcome too.

Anvil Club is an extreme dress code club. Think of it like a retool of our hot leather bars where everyone is in gear, the cruising is intense and you've got a convenient backroom if you feel like getting a nut off.
The huge main room of Anvil Club is all about cruising and socializing in your gear. Step through the heavy black drape at the rear of the club and take your cruising to the next level with some major darkroom action. Anvil Club is not really a sex party. It's a full-on gear dress code club in a private space with a fully equipped dungeon and a huge darkroom.
Anvil Club is men 21+ only and the dress code will be enforced. The Anvil dress code includes full leather, uniform, rubber, sports kit, skin gear, super hero, and jock strap with boots. Boots are required for everything except sports gear. Anything that screams masculine gear to the doorman is on and his word is final. A changing room and secure clothes check is available so you can get as wild as you want with your gear.

No cologne, tennis shoes (except with sport), flip flops, shorts or cell phones. Jeans, other than bleachers, are only allowed with tall boots and leather on top like a jacket, shirt or harness, or with chaps.
Tix are $30 and are only available in advance - no door sales. Tickets are available online, or at our local LA retailers 665, Rough Trade and Syren/Stockroom. Doors open at 9 PM and the club goes until 3 AM.

Check out the weekend schedule and then snag your Full Weekend Package or individual tickets. Remember that you must have a full weekend package to book a room at the host hotel*. And that's definitely where you'll want to be this year.

*You must have a full weekend package in order to book a room at the host hotel. Once you book your full weekend package, you'll receive an email within 24 hours with a booking code to give to the hotel. Buying a weekend package doesn't guarantee a room however. The hotel is on a first come-first served basis.

Rubbout Travel Subsidy

For those of you inquiring about travel subsidy to Vancouver for Rubbout weekend, here is what we have:

Kinky Ornaments

I guess it's just the trend that tree ornaments are just getting stranger and stranger each year (or should I say, more niche-y?).  There are of course, such collections as Star Trek and Simpsons ornaments - those are pretty standard deviations.  For 'balls' to hang off the tree, I've seen pickles, and this year I saw a sushi roll.  Getting weirder...

This is a great one though!  I wonder if there's a snowman orgy series?

Fall 2011 Poll Results

Thank you everyone who voted in my informal poll on How We Don Our Latex.  I never expected so many to use silicone lube/dressing aids as the poll indicated.  Personally, I use lube 90% of the time.  It just seems to work so much better with those of us with body hair.  I always found in my tight suits that powder is fine for getting a suit on, but it doesn't allow the skin and latex surfaces to slide against each other enough that you don't end up getting a lot of tugging on hair, particularly in pressure point areas like the knees and large sections like forearms.

I have used water-based lubes like ID lube or J-lube before, but they don't have the longevity in the suits long enough for extended wearing.  Eventually you are either swimming in fluids or the lube dries up and you are left with nothing.  This is a similar experience to putting a suit on in the shower.  It is easy to put on but this doesn't really set you up for extended wearing.

I think a lot of people just getting into latex tend to do the more rudimentary activites just as rubbering up in the shower or using water-based lubes.  The tightness of the latex is another consideration.  I have some looser suits that I tend to put on with talc; it's just a quicker process.  Once you become a more seasoned player and realize you need to maximize your latex time, you seek what will provide you maximum comfort.  So far, the best for me personally, and for many others is using silicone-based dressing aids or bodyglides.

MIR 2012 Post FINALLY up!

My week and a half of travel madness ended Sunday November 13 when I finally got back to Vancouver after spending a five days in Alberta celebrating family Christmas and hooking up with old friends. A week before that I was packing and preparing to travel to Chicago to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Mister International Rubber and the crowning of the new 2012 title holder.

AND HERE IT IS!

Since then, it's been work and Rubbout planning; I apologize for this taking a month to finally get around to doing...after all Tynan and Pup Nitro had their reports up within days! That is typically the way I like to do this annual report to, however this year I was just too sick to finish it and been very busy since! :(

...

So now, the next big event is Mr. West Coast Rubber on the February 25th weekend in Palm Springs.  I will (finally, LOL) be stepping down as Mr. WCR and handing the title over to some new deserving rubbery dude.  I am looking forward to judging and having fun with the west coast gang....always a good time to be playing and rubbering up poolside in the sun!  I am at least bringing a bit of an entourage with me down to Palm Springs.  In fact, the resort rooms are already booked!  Woot!

Rubbout hosts monthly contests at Pumpjack Pub on the second Saturday of every month.  I had to miss November's for MIR and now missing December's due to family obligations on Vancouver Island.  January's contest is going to be tied in with the official Rubbout poster unveiling, the contest is minimal leather and will also be an opportunity to promote West Coast Rubber.  February's contest is Kinkiest Kink, and the March contest, tied in with the official Rubbout Kickoff party and 'Try Out Rubber' Night is RUBBER!  Woo hoo!  So much to look forward to in 2012 (including possibly a visit by Mr. International Rubber 2012 to Rubbout or WCR?  I guess we'll have to wait and see! :)

Titan Media's Stockroom

I know Ruff has posted these pics several times, but I just had to.....a tall, dark, built hunk of a man who appears to be enjoying wearing his black latex? Incredible! Thanks for making us all quiver, Spencer Reed :D

Now that's gotta induce a sweat....

AGRH! YouTube made the video private this morning...now we can only wait until it is made public again. Great fight scene with the rubberman, for those of you wondering what you're missing.
Is it wrong that this gave me a boner a little bit?

Photoshoot

Finally!  Some images from the September VML photoshoot!

10 Things to Know

Dan Savage referenced this 2008 post from Ben In Leatherland's blog this week.  I think it is great advice for gay guys just beginning to explore BDSM.

As you'll read in the description, this blog is aimed at bridging the gap between the leather community and those clean cut, preppy boys (and girls, but my experience is mostly with gay men) who were always curious about bondage/sm... but turned off by the perception of leather as old, fat, hairy men. A friend of mine suggested I start with a list of basic things you should know before you start exploring. So here are 10 things you all should know:

1. Start with your dick! Look at porn! What makes you hot? The community is large and has a variety of fetishes: BDSM, gear, leather, etc... Look at porn and check out kinky social sites! While the sense of community can be great, it really all starts with play. So, what are you into?

2. And this is directly related to #1: use porn as an inspiration, not as a rulebook. When it comes to BDSM and D/s relationships, a lot of people have made the mistake of trying to be just like the guys they saw in some hot porn. At best this can lead to disappointment. At worst it can put you in real danger. Porn and erotica are not real! They are scripted and designed to make our dicks twitch. While it may sound hot, being tied up for five days straight isn't terribly realistic.

3. Start slow. Now you are all horny and ready to go, but don't rush things. This whole world can be overwhelming if you try to become too many things at once. Take the time to figure out who you are when it comes to kink!

4. Be open and honest. If you want to tell your boyfriend you are curious about fetish play, then tell him! Drop hints if you want, but I find being blunt and open works best. If you are starting a D/s relationship, be open and honest about what exactly you want and realistically can handle (I recommend jerking off before these discussions so you aren't thinking with your dick heh). Even if you're just starting to play with someone new, find ways to slip it in or your partner won't know.

5. Don't be an ageist. If you aren't into older men, that is your business, but be respectful. I have learned from a lot of different men, some of them much older than me. What I have learned from them has helped me explore my sexuality deeper than I otherwise could have. Whether friends or lovers, be open to the more experienced.

6. Do some research. As much as I recommend having mentors in the scene, make the effort to educate yourself. There is plenty of literature on kink and BDSM, both online and in print (I highly recommend "The Ties that Bind" by: Guy Baldwin).

7. Be accepting of other people's sexuality. It is a little hypocritical to judge another guy's kink when you like to get pissed on. By normative sex standards, we are all pretty fucked up, so try not to be too judgemental. Just say "that isn't really my scene, but its cool if you are into it". If you disagree, try to consider the parallels between this and homophobia.

8. Know yourself. This is a multifaceted rule. Know what you love, like, tolerate, and won't do in terms of play. Also try to figure out why you are looking for certain things. Most kink is perfectly healthy sexual behavior. However, make sure you aren't getting into something for the wrong reason. For example: some "slaves" want to loose all their rights and privileges because their life is shit and they are looking for an escape. Since no Master is capable of fixing everything, it never works out for either partner.

9. Protect yourself. If a situation seems really shady: it probably is. Once you are tied up, you really are in the other person's hand, so make sure they are trustworthy. If you are meeting someone online for the first time: leave a note saying where you'll be and who you are meeting (with a friend or just on your desk so if you go missing the police will find it and track down the psycho who, unfortunately, has killed and/or kidnapped you). Make sure the guy you are meeting knows about this. If he is really uncomfortable with it, explain your reasoning. If he is still uncomfy, move on.

10. Talk about it. Don't feel the need to be too graphic, but the more we talk about kink, the less taboo it becomes. All my friends know I am a kinky little pig. Plenty of them have even confided in me that they have their own interests they have wanted to explore. When we all open up, we make kink more accessible, and therefore more fun!

Last but not least: HAVE FUN!
