To Our Rubbout Sponsors....a big THANK YOU!

Hello everyone,

Well, Rubbout 20 is in the history books and across the board it looks like we have had a smashing success on our hands with lots of local buzz generated and a lot of out-of-town attendees that are returning home with lots of good stories about their weekend in Vancouver playing with the local rubbermen, taking in the sites, attending the events and reuniting with friends. I had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people, and despite the stress and sleeplessness hosting an event inevitably brings, I speak on behalf of the Rubbout organizing committee when I say that we celebrated the anniversary in style and now are keen to start planning next year's event with a new committee, new opportunities, new goodwill, new relationships and new ideas to drive us.

If you are interested in some of our numbers:

We sold 102 weekend passes, up from 66 last year. We had 33 weekend guests, up from 12 last year (135 weekend attendees in total! Amazing!)

We sold 120 Saturday night dance event tickets and had 66 guests (including performers, volunteers, and sponsors).

The total number of attendees was 321 for Saturday night, which exceeded our expectations.

We doubled the amount of money generated from raffle ticket sales from last year.and had 90 guests at the Sunday brunch which was when the raffle tickets were drawn and the silent auction took place...all new records.

Overall we are happy; we broke even on the expenses versus revenue generated this year exclusive of the raffles and auctions, with which we have created a legacy fund which will be used as seed money for next year's installment of Rubbout, number 21.

As always we are having several debriefing meetings to see how we can improve on things for next year, particularly surging ahead further with raffles and auctions on the sponsorship side. We feel that Rubbout has become a significant enough event in Vancouver that we can start doing some more complicated negotiations for hotel and venue hosts for next year and improve our marketing effect with the goodwill we hope we have created with our media sponsors this year.

So, none of this would have been possible without the generosity you, the sponsors, showed us leading up to Rubbout 20, and I give a heartfelt thank you to all of you for showing your support and having faith in us as we look to Rubbout growing bigger and better in the coming years. We couldn't have had the party we did without you! I hope that you will consider supporting us again in the coming years as well. This year we took a big leap of faith in ourselves that we could pull off something twice the size of anything Rubbout has done previously and we certainly hope that you see the benefits from the sponsorship you provided us. I would appreciate any feedback from you as the year progresses, whether you felt the sponsorship was effective or not and some ideas of what you might like to see from us as a growing event for sponsors to get exposure of their products and services.

We are hoping to amalgamate our web and email systems by next year, so I anticipate I will be contacting you from a new email address in the future. However, **** and **** will stay in my possession for the forseeable future if you need to get a hold of me, or alternatively you can contact me personally at ****.

Lots of pictures from the weekend are now available at www.rubbout.com.

Once again, thank you so much!

Regards,
Reid
